This Colt Peacemaker belonged to Pte Henry Lucas No291 of the 6th Australian Commonwealth Horse and was used during the Boer War conflict ( 1899-1902). The initials JL are carved in hand grip. Colt only made 1150 of this type as it is extremely rare. The Colt is featured in Dave Georges Book “Carvings from the Veldt” on page 272 A real piece of early Australian history.
